MICHAEL E. GIBLIN is an partner in the Pittsburgh Regional Office, where his practice focuses on a variety of defense-oriented civil litigation matters including: product liability, personal injury, insurance coverage and bad faith, contracts, commercial and collections matters, construction accidents, construction defect claims, and multi-jurisdictional toxic tort litigation. Over the years, in addition to handling trials, arbitrations, mediations, depositions and arguments, Mike has earned numerous dismissals on summary judgment and has significant experience in representing clients before Pennsylvania’s appellate courts.
Mike received his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2000 and is admitted to practice in all Pennsylvania state courts as well as the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. He has also been admitted pro hac vice for various cases pending outside of Pennsylvania. While in law school, he was named Best Oralist following the 1998-1999 Appellate Moot Court Competition and, at graduation, was awarded the school’s Appellate Advocacy Award.
Following law school, Mike clerked for the Hon. Eugene B. Strassburger, III, Calendar Control Judge for the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas. During his clerkship with Judge Strassburger, he gained invaluable insight and experience in case evaluation and settlement strategy as he assisted the judge with conciliating nearly every civil case that proceeded to jury trial in Allegheny County.
