Joseph A. Venuti Jr

JOSEPH A. VENUTI, JR. is the managing partner for the New Jersey offices. He primarily handles construction litigation defense, both property damage and bodily injury, professional liability matters with an emphasis on defense of attorneys, premises liability defense, and insurance coverage. In the legal malpractice area, Mr. Venuti has had extensive experience representing attorneys in Pennsylvania and New Jersey in a wide variety of underlying matters including securities, RICO, medical malpractice, divorce, admiralty, civil rights, secured transactions under Article 9, execution and garnishment, copyright infringement, trademarks, franchises, criminal law, and real estate. In products liability cases, Mr. Venuti has represented manufacturers of diverse products such as ceiling fans, scaffolds, ladders, hoist motors, brake drums, and toxic substances in both state and federal court. In addition, Mr. Venuti has represented clients in complex litigation and commercial matters. On appeal, Mr. Venuti has appeared before the Supreme Court of New Jersey, Superior Court of New Jersey (Appellate Division), Superior Court of Pennsylvania, Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and Supreme Court of the United States.

Mr. Venuti is licensed to practice in New York, New Jersey, Florida and Pennsylvania. He is admitted to the United States Supreme Court, the United States Third Circuit Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the United States District Court for the District of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court of New Jersey, the Supreme Court of Florida, and the New York Court of Appeals.

Mr. Venuti earned his Bachelor of Arts from Temple University in 1976. He graduated from the Temple University School of Law in 1980. He first worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Edward Rosenwald in the Civil Trial Division in Philadelphia of the Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania and then moved on as a law clerk for the Honorable Frank Montemuro of the Superior Court of Pennsylvania. Mr. Venuti joined Swartz Campbell in March 1984.

Mr. Venuti is a member of the New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Florida, and New York Bar Associations.
